The Role

Whilst your primary focus will be writing code, you will also develop an understanding of the business of retail and turning this understanding into solutions that support our customers, staff, and partners. Willing and able to contribute to any part of the delivery pipeline, you thrive on the opportunity to solve complex problems, take pride in your craft and actively seek continual improvement of self, team, and organisation.

You will be self-motivated, have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and enjoy contributing to the success of an Agile squad.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong working understanding of the business and how our systems create value
• Take ownership of work and responsibility for getting it done
• Design technical solutions with the understanding of work priority, trading off perfection and delivery according to context
• Write and contribute to well-designed, testable, efficient production-ready code (including CI & CD, unit tests for front end and backend)
• Work collaboratively within the team from inception to production & assist other developers (PRs, mentoring)
• Identify risks, issues and improvement opportunities and ensure they are escalated as necessary

Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of commercial software development
• 3+ years experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiar with creating API’s in C# & .NET Core / .NET 6+
• Strong working knowledge of API integration
• Skilled at troubleshooting and debugging issues
• Awareness of security, performance, and accessibility issue.
• Capable of mentoring and coaching team members as required.
• A bachelors degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, although not mandatory
