The Role

Join us as we embark on an exciting journey here at JB Hi-Fi to uplift our Supply Chain environment through the use of innovative technology which will drive greater collaboration and unlock efficiencies across our Supply Chain, particularly in our last mile execution.  As part of our Supply Chain transformation, we have a number of exciting opportunities to join our team as we take the next step in our journey.

The Bulky Transport Operations Lead is an exciting newly created role within our Supply Chain function that is responsible for overseeing the effective planning and execution of bulky transport operations across the JB HI-FI Group network, in line with agreed service levels and the Group’s Supply Chain strategy. This role plays a critical part in supporting the management of contractual relationships with the DC and Regional Bulky network carriers as well as ensuring cost management reporting. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting JB Hi-Fi Group growth (such as new stores, new geographies, new channels, peak period trade) by ensuring appropriate transport arrangements are in place.
• Championing initiatives to improve customer visibility and/or certainty in their last mile experience.
• Acting as the main point of contact for regional transport network.
• Analyse internal bulky transport operations to identify and execute on areas of process enhancement.
• Monitor performance, establish corrective measures as needed, and collaborate with the Systems and Performance Team to continuously improve processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 5 years’ experience in transport roles
• Experience in home delivery and/or bulky freight networks
• Comfortable embracing change, resilient in overcoming challenges, and flexible in adjusting priorities, all whilst maintaining a proactive approach to continuous improvement
• Experience in retail and/or e-commerce environments and transport management systems (preferred)
• Comprehensive knowledge of the transport industry, transport equipment and relevant legislative and regularly requirements such as Chain of Responsibility (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in business or logistics (preferred)
