About the role

We have a rare leadership opportunity to join our group finance team as a Financial Reporting Manager. You will lead the JB Hi-Fi financial accounting team for the JB Hi-Fi Australia and JB Hi-Fi New Zealand business along with driving process improvements. This role would suit a finance leader experienced in financial reporting across large-scale, publicly listed entities.

• Ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of a suite of monthly reports to the executive, senior management and operational teams
• Providing insight and analysis of monthly results to the various business units
• Overseeing all financial accounting, month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards
• Management of the external audit of the JB Hi-Fi businesses
• Ensuring compliance with monthly GST lodgements for the JB Hi-Fi businesses
• Effectively lead, train and develop a team of qualified accountants and finance professionals
• Work closely with the Group Reporting and Tax Manager to assist with the preparation of group consolidations, monthly Board reporting along with annual and half-yearly statutory financial statements for the Group
• Work collaboratively with the Group Finance Systems and Projects Manager to assist with finance system developments, improvements and implementations

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance with CPA/CA certification
• 8+ years relevant professional experience, preferably within a retail or a similar environment, initial Big 4 or mid-tier experience is also preferred
• Experience in leading and developing high performing teams
• Proven financial accounting and reporting skills
• Experience in using a large-scale ERP system along with reporting tools such as Power BI or TM1 preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
