About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager - Merchandise Execution, you will provide leadership to the Category Execution team and collectively bring to life each category’s merchandising vision across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Provide direction and guidance to Category Execution team to plan, organise and action merchandising projects in stores and manage their workload effectively, ensuring that they are supported with training and feedback for their growth. 
  • Work with Senior leadership team across the business including Store Operations, Store Development, Buying teams and brand partners to ensure that all projects and in store displays align with business strategies.
  • Ensure best in class display solutions to provide a market leading customer experience and ensure all displays are right fit for JBHIFI by meeting all safety, operational, marketing, maintenance requirements and that communicate the benefits of the product.
  • Budget management of operational costs. Coordination of allocated capex for merch projects and track overall claims with Buyers and Store Development. 
  • Work closely with the Merchandising Implementation Manager to provide merchandising standards to be used across the store network.
  • Ensure that continuous improvement is made to all elements to support merchandising excellence in store.
  • Manage all aspects of supplier management including development of strong collaborative relationships. Ensuring that continuous improvement is made to process’ that reduce complexity and errors. Manage all tenders on major projects and supply chain of display manufacture, signage, and merchandising tools for stores.   
  • Support management of contracts for branded execution and supplier agreements and ensure that all branded displays meet business criteria, fit, safety, customer engagement. 
  • Working with a range of other key stakeholders, including with the IIBP team on key strategies to reduce theft, and with Safety on ensuring all team members are safe in all merchandising activities. 
  • Ensure continues improvement in all processes, identifying root causes of problems and creating process change to improve efficiencies across the team.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 10 years’ experience in retail execution across brands or retailer
  • Experience managing a high performing team, with numerous objectives and concurrent projects
  • Experience with large projects roll-out and category development
  • Confident in influencing and providing feedback/direction to stakeholders
  • Budgeting knowledge
  • Good time management skills and organisation skills
  • Ideally relevant tertiary qualifications (Business/marketing/commerce degree)
  • Proficient experience across Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Word and Excel
